Roman Day

11th October 2019
On Friday, Kestrels arrived at school dressed as the people of Briton for their Roman Day.
In preparation, the children chose their own tribe name and designed and created their own Roman shield to use during the end of day battle.
Kestrels had a fantastic morning looking at a variety of real and replica artefacts which helped the children to really understand how Britons lived during the time of the Romans.
The children enjoyed sharing their own opinions on how they might react if they were told the Romans were to invade Devon and had an exciting afternoon using their shields to take part in a Roman drill session.
