Summer 2019 Class Blog

Eagles class visited the South Devon Chilli Farm near Loddiswell yesterday as part of their Chocolate topic. We learnt about all of the stages of the chocolate-making process and how they produce their own chilli chocolate. We then learnt a lot about chillies and how to cultivate them in the UK. We also tried a variety of their chocolate including their spiciest 'Extreme' chilli chocolate. The children were superbly behaved and had a very enjoyable time.

Eagles class completed the Gold ‘Young Spirit Explorer Award’ for an expedition in Dartmoor as part of their residential trip this week. The children hiked with backpacks for a 24-hour expedition that included orienteering, solving clues, crossing rivers, putting up tents, preparing food, climbing and crossing a river in a dinghy. Despite the weather and mud, the children remained positive and enthusiastic throughout and were a credit to the school. We also had a water sports day of canoeing and raft-building.

Eagles have had an exciting week, we have been surfing and went on our residential.
Eagles Class have been researching bread ingredients and recipes as part of DT this term. Today they all baked bread, following a variety of recipes. As you can see they looked great and they were also delicious. Thank you to Helen in the kitchen and great baking everyone!
