World Explorer Day - Italy

7th October 2021
Today was World Explorer Day and we explored Italy! Throughout the school we learnt about to recognise the country from its shape, the location and name of the capital city, the food traditionally eaten there, landmarks and famous people associate with Italy and a little bit of Italian language. Children completed snapshot sheets of facts about Italy including recognising the national flag and investigated climate and currency. Eagles learnt about Leonardo Da Vinci and produced their own designs of an invention in his style. Their challenge was to invent a jet pack used by paramedics to reach inaccessible locations. Other classes investigated the Carnival of Venice and made their own masks.  It was great to see lots of the children trying the Italian themed lunch.  What a lovely way to learn about one of our European neighbours!
