Eagles class were given the challenge of creating a suitable landing module for an astronaut (an egg) to land on a distant planet or moon (the playground from the balcony). They combined their understanding of space, materials and forces to create a module that (mostly) protected the eggs from breaking. The children worked collaboratively, using a range of materials and designs. Sadly, three eggs did not survive the landing!
Eagles class have been exploring ways to create different tones within their art, and have used the strategies learned to replicate artist Peter Thorpe's work.
Eagles have been enjoying Forest School this week. The children were taught how to tie reef knots and were given the option of creating woollen stars or hang new swings in the trees, using reef knots in the construction of both. A big thank you to Miss Pike and Mrs Monroe for leading the session.
