June 2022

This Monday we went on a trip to Stover Country Park for some mini beast hunting and pond dipping to link in with our science topic from last half-term. The children very much enjoyed feeding and learning the names of the different species of duck and found some great wildlife including newts, damselfly nymphs and even a toad!
Kestrels attended the Eden’s project Last Chance to Paint, a live artist webinar where the children got to paint alongside Eden’s artist in residence John Dyer. The webinar had great links to global understanding as well as our Science topic on living things and their habitats. The children produced some really individual pieces based around the Amazon and jaguars.
In DT this week, the children had the opportunity to cook with Brittany. As we are finding out about Ancient Egypt in our topic lessons, we decided to make flat breads. We mixed, kneaded and rolled and why Brittany fried them off we set about making some healthy fillings.
