Kestrels have got stuck into their new unit of work in English. We are learning all about Pompeii and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, before writing up our own account of the eruption.Â
We have created story boards and practised acting out the plot this week to solidify our understanding.Â
Kestrels have been learning about the location of rivers in Geography this week. We have used atlases to find the most famous rivers in every continent. We have also revised key terminology by playing Bingo. Kestrels have also enjoyed learning outside in the school garden and braved the wet weather in Forest School.
Kestrels had a great week making seasonal tarts. We first went to the school garden and picked spring onions, beetroot and herbs. We then came back to the classroom to make a seasonal tart from scratch. Everyone did extremely well learning new skills for life, like making pastry and chopping vegetables safely.Â
