The Little Owls have been exploring the sand in different ways in continuous provision, using a variety of resources to decorate sandcastles or make prints.  The children then expressed an interest in making volcanoes.  We made one together that had lava!  The children were so excited to see it erupt.  They then went on to practice their skills, making their own volcanoes in the sand tray.
